1. My lock is hard to open. How can I fix this problem?

If the lock is sticking and hard to open, spray some WD-40 into locking arm shaft as shown in the picture above. Do NOT spray the key hole! Then operate the lock by locking and unlocking the device a few times. This will lubricate the gears internally and allow the lock to operate smoothly once more.

As shown in the picture below, the master lock comes with a protective weather flap. This flap sometimes falls shut during shipment. Simply lift the tab back up to gain access to the key hole.

3. Is my mailbox protected from weather changes?
The mailbox is powder coated which protects your mailbox from the weather. Since it does have a powder coat finish, a wash and wax every so often will help keep the shine and glossy look. Overall, this will increase the life of your Armadillo Mailbox.

4. If it rains or snows, is my mail going to get wet?
No, that’s why our mailboxes come with rubber-mats. Each mailbox has a rubber mat that will cushion and elevate the mail from wet spots. This matt is placed inside the bottom of every mailbox.

5. Can I purchase more than one mailbox for a custom install?
Yes, you can place two mailboxes on one post, three mailboxes on one post, four mailboxes on one post, and even more. Depending on what you need, we can custom build posts to fit your quantity.

6. Do I have to leave the U.S. MAIL sticker on my mailbox?
The USPS Approved Sticker has to be on the mailbox for your personal security. For one, a robber may say: “I thought it was a trash can.” With the USPS Approved Sticker, there is no mistaking that it is a U.S. mailbox.

7. Can I change the location of my mailbox?
To change the location of your mailbox, you will need to ask permission from your local post office. At the same time, ask the post-office for the height requirements prior to installation.

8. Can I remove my mailbox after installation?
The mailbox can be removed by unbolting the mailbox from the stand/post in which may apply for the following reasons: construction, new fence, landscape changes, etc….

9. Can I replace the lock and/or change the keys?
The lock can be replaced if the customer wants to change the keys. Unlock the master lock and remove screw from stainless steel bracket (top screw). Then slide the lock up and out of the bracket. Then slide new lock into bracket and ensure to secure top screw in and tighten. Please record your key number if you would like to duplicate your key in the future.
NOTE: If you have changed your lock, then the key number on your invoice will not be the correct key number.

10. Can I have more than two keys?
The key can be duplicated at any good lock-smith (not home-depot). The key usually has a four digit number under the black key protector. These numbers are usually written on the invoice. This number can be given to a lock smith for duplicates of the key.

11. How do I keep bugs and insects out of my mailbox?
To help keep bugs and insects out of your mailbox, all you need to do is place some moth balls underneath the green mat.

12. How much mail can the Armadillo Mailbox hold?
The Armadillo Mailbox can hold up to two weeks of mail depending on the amount of mail you receive daily.

14. What is the difference between a Distributor and an Armadillo Mailbox Depot?
A Distributor may either display or sale the Armadillo Mailbox. An Armadillo Mailbox Depot offers full service for the Armadillo Mailbox. Full service includes a showroom, sales, and installations.
