Company History
Armadillo Mailbox originally started in April of 1996 out of Escondido, California. The first mailbox was not sold until May of 1997 to a fire fighter in Escondido, California. Mr. Gary Taylor is the creator of the Armadillo Mailbox and welded the first ones out of his very own garage as a hobby. With the growing problem of mail theft and mail courier praises, he realized there was a demand for his product.
Today Armadillo Mailbox is a product of Vista Industrial Products, Inc. The product has been sold to thousands of San Diego residents and businesses with continuous growing sales nationwide. The company currently holds two patents for the Armadillo Mailbox which are US Patent: 6,234,388 B1 and US Patent: D 398,134. These patents are for the design of the mailbox and for the locking mechanism. With the help of Kurt Ackermann the President of Vista Industrial Products, Inc., they plan to take the Armadillo Mailbox to the next level with nationwide sales.
